The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program received notice from HUD that funds allocated were not sufficient to cover all current contracts at year's end. HUD has directed PHAs to implement short-term cost saving measures.
The HOME Funds Program - Tenant Based Assistance is currently closed. Applicants for this program are referred by the Gloucester County Division of Social Services.
The Mainstream Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed as of July 2026. It was last open in October 2023, and there is no notice of when it will reopen. Previously, preferences were for disabled, non-elderly persons (ages 18-61) transitioning out of institutional settings, at risk of institutionalization, homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless.
